The farmette includes 2 pastures, barn/stables, outbuildings & one sub-division potential.

ABOUT THE PROPERTY

The approach to this unique home is a long tree-lined driveway following a board fence pasture. A beautiful modern brick addition on the back and side of the original log home and tasteful landscaping greet a visitor while a welcoming spacious patio offers access to the beautifully restored spring house with its interior exposed log walls and fireplace, and the entrance to the lower level of the house and the Great Room.

The Great Room boasts a 23′ ceiling with a balcony overlook from the second floor and 11 windows illuminate the open space. It is great for entertaining and is position next to a well equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances and an adjoining full bathroom.

On the main level, the older log home section, are the dining room and the parlor, both with original wood floors, fireplaces, exposed log walls, as if 200 years had not passed. Up a flight of stairs are 2 charming bedrooms & a full bath, and walk up stair access to the attic with space suitable for storage.

This is a working horse farmette, just outside of Uniontown (though the address in Union Bridge) with 2 board fence pastures and several outbuildings, including a barn with 3 stalls and farm machine storage.

According to some who are knowledgeable with the history of the area, in the 19th century, there were dances held in the room that now serves as the master bedroom.

This historic farmette is a property of rare and beautiful distinction near to Washington, DC & Baltimore, yet a world away.

UNIONTOWN HISTORY

Uniontown is the gem of Carroll County’s small towns and villages. It contains a variety of elements that make it representative of most early settlements in this region, including its plan which is linear along an important turnpike. Today, the town retains much of its early characteristics including its tree lined streets and historic buildings. The town exhibits a diversity of nineteenth and early twentieth century structures that, in effect, present a lively museum of rural architectural styles and details. All of these features combine to create the quaint atmosphere and charm found in the community.
The unique quality of Uniontown is its physical character that portrays a townscape virtually unchanged from the turn-of-the-20th century. The few buildings that date from the mid-twentieth century are relatively inconspicuous. Moreover, the view from the town towards the adjoining countryside is preserved. A distinct boundary between village and countryside exists without the imposition of suburban subdivisions or strip development.
